RPM and direction of rotation
To be able to control the rotation direction and RPM the engine will need a sensor that can provide more or less detailed information of the engines RPM and position. These sensors will have to be mounted on the rear end of the rotor axis. We can equip your engine with three differnet sensors.
Straight RPM meter with high accurancy. This unit provide an analogue signal (volt) that tell acutal RPM. This unit has got a standard inteface such that is can be directly connected to anykind of meter that support analogue tachometer data. This unit will though only tell about RPM no axis position info.
This sensor provide digital info about the rotar axis position. This info is aimed to be feeded into and processed by a control system. This is an absolute Encoder i.e it will provide position also from a standing-still engine. You can choose between several different Encoders and the price of the Encoder very much depends on what accurancy you want from the Encoder. The Encoder will just provide digital data and what kind of information, besides RPM and position you can get, very much depends on what control system you are using.
A resolver is very similar to an Encoder. The major difference is that a Resolver provide analogue data while an Encoder provide digital data. This sensor provide analogue info about the rotar axis position. This info is aimed to be feeded into and processed by a control system. This is an absolute Resolver i.e it will provide position also from a standing-still engine. There are just one Resolver and if you are looking for high accurancy then this is the best solution. The Resolver will just provide analogue information so what info besides RPM and position you can get, very much depends on what control system you are using.
If your engine is a heavy duty engine or maybe its running in a harsh and hot environment, you better keep track of the engines temperature. An over heated engines wear and tear is higher than normal. As default we will place the temp sensor in the wound of the stator. If you have any other preferences of placement or want multiple sensors, just tell. The info provided by the temp sensor is aimed to be processed by a supervision or control system.
We can offer you several different brakes. The type of breake we provide are standard retardation until the engine reach full stop. These bakes also include a manual brake control.

- Mechanical fan driven by the rotor axis
- Electric fan mounted on the outside of the engine
- Electric fan mounted inside the engine
The electric versions can easily be combined with a temperature sensor and controlled by a control system
